Dennis A. Pasentine - Owner and Chairman of the Board of Directors

Dennis A. Pasentine, Owner and Chairman of the Board of Directors, is responsible for all sales activities and fleet operations for the company. This includes equipment procurement and maintenance, marketing calls, contract negotiations, and fleet logistics. Mr. Pasentine is an experienced, licensed captain and tankerman. Through the years as the company grew, Mr. Pasentine served in several capacities including Operations Manager from 1994 to 1996, Sales Manager from 1996 to 1997, Chief Operating Officer from 1997 to 1998, and Chairman today.

Mr. Pasentine joined Exxon U.S.A., Inc. in 1974 after graduating from high school. He worked for Exxon as a tankerman bunkering ships and tank barges. Mr. Pasentine left Exxon in 1976 and joined Gulf Intercoastal Marine, Inc. He worked as a field representative and tankerman from 1976 to 1979. He was responsible for developing proper loading and discharge procedures and overseeing the development of new tankermen. Mr. Pasentine held many other positions at Gulf Intercoastal including Captain, Port Captain, and Operations Manager. In those capacities, Mr. Pasentine was able to develop all the significant safety, operations, and personnel polices as well as overseeing the hiring and training of all crews and operations personnel. He left Gulf Intercoastal in 1993 when the company was sold to outside interests.

Mr. Pasentine's experience as a licensed tankerman and captain has served him well throughout his career. Since joining Florida Marine Transporters, Inc. and JAR Assets, Inc., Mr. Pasentine has overseen the development of all operations, safety, and sales polices. He has hired all of the company’s operations and sales staff. Today, most of the company's boat captains and crews have worked for Mr. Pasentine for at least ten years, including service at Gulf Intercoastal Marine, Inc.
