140' River Class Towboat

 
 
The 140’ Horizon project will have EMD 12-710s at 6000Hp per set.  The 140’ River Class vessels will mainly be used in the river to move our new chemical barge fleet.  They will be able to move large cargos up the river with great efficiency.  The vessels are designed to carry a crew of up to 9 people with significant comfort. 
 
 
    • 6,000 H.P., with new fuel efficient EMD 12-710G7 diesel engines, tier II EPA rated, with an estimated maximum  5750 gallons fuel burn a day versus the older EMD 16-645E5; which equate to approx. 600 gallons less fuel burn per day and an additional 400 h.p.; with less then 13 gallon lube oil loss per day versus 40 gallons per day loss on the 16-645E5 engines
